How is your summer?
I planned on taking part of last week off while road tripping to Nelson. I had visions of hiking in the mornings, working by the lake during the day and playing in the evenings.
I tried it for one day and at the end of that day – quite frankly, I said I’m done! Not very long ago I would have spent most of my trip doing in essence what I do every day: the tango between work, family and play.
But let’s be honest. We can time block the shit out of our lives. We can change our relationship to our world and apply a variety of techniques to help us dance with a lot more grace and ease. But at the end of the day, sometimes we just need to just shut it down for a while – stop … reflect … celebrate.
As soon as I gave myself permission to pack away my daily to do’s with zero intention of pulling them out again, I felt free – and that’s when some really cool things happened.
In the time that I spent breathing in the mountain air, chasing dragonflies, dancing until the wee hours of the morning, and slowly sipping on a few (rare) cups of coffee…in the time that I spent CELEBRATING – not working and trying to figure it all out – is exactly when clarity, insights and a new direction landed. Key things like….
- What is out of alignment in my world and what needs to shift.
- What is working and how to expand on it.
- The specific answer I’ve been searching for months (this one came with the dragonfly).
- What I need to let go of and where I need more support.
- What I’m re-committing to.
- And a whole lot more gratitude for things I haven’t been paying enough attention to.
In order to access information and deepen the alignment in our lives, we need to stop, step out of our usual environment, interrupt our patterns, ask new questions and let go!
As promised, I’ve created the 2016 Mid-Year Reflection, Celebration and Release Workbook to help you land – to pause, reflect, celebrate and gain clarity so you can launch into the second half of this year in alignment, knowing what matters most to you and what to focus on. The first part of the Workbook supports your personal life. The second half is for business owners and entrepreneurs.
The Mid-Year Review is part of the DDA Land and Launch Strategy. This simple and profoundly effective strategy is mapped out in the LAND & LAUNCH GUIDE so grab your copy if you haven’t done so already.
Divine timing would have it that when I was on my trip, my dear friend and colleague Andy Hayes of Plum Deluxe published one of my favourite conversations with him on his Tea Time Podcast. In it we talk about how to cultivate moments that matter, how to dive deep into Landing and Launching, and of course – we talk about dragonflies!
“If you feel like you don’t have the time to slow down and focus on what is important to you, then you MUST take time for this episode.” Andy Hayes Plum Deluxe
They say we teach what we most need to learn…I re-learned a lot as I listened to this Podcast – It’s GOLD. Andy and Plum Deluxe are devoted to Making Moments Matter… and if you had to sum up what life is about – that’s IT!
- Listen to the Tea Time Podcast.
- Read the L&L Guide (if you haven’t done so already)
- Download and fill out your 2016 Mid-Year Reflection, Celebration and Release Workbook. PDF VERSION (to print and hand write) WORD VERSION (to type into the document)
These three simple things will help you feel a whole lot more grounded, centered and clear on where you are now and what you want to cultivate and focus on next! It will take very little time and you will seriously thank yourself for doing it!
To dancing with dragonflies!
